The Formalities to enter Saint Martin Island

Saint Martin (french side) belongs to Guadeloupe, a French district. For European Union residents, only an identity card is necessary to enter the territory. However, we advise you to carry a valid passport along with you if you wish to visit the surrounding Caribbean Islands.

For non-europeans, a passport (valid 3 months after your return date) as well as a return or onward fligth ticket are to be carried. If you intend to stay for more than 3 months (90 days), you need a visa (approach the French consulate in Washington for more details).

There are no compulsary vaccinations (no malaria).

How to come to Saint Martin

The island has an international airport (Juliana Airport, on the Dutch side), and a smaller airport (Grand-Case Airport, on the French side).
