Water Sports

In Saint Martin, the water is cristal clear and warm all year round; this makes it an ideal place for water sports.

Surfing

Our island offers numerous spots to practice surfing.
The Galion, Mullet Bay, Wilderness, the Bowl, Prunes Bay, and Guanna Bay are only a few of the best sites to be discovered.
The best period to surf the waves of Saint Martin is from October to December. During the cyclone season (June to November), you will also find good waves, often reaching 7 feet high and more.
Many young champions started their carreers in Saint Martin. Some of them, trained by the local surfing club, have now become professionals.

Windsurfing

From December to March and from June to August, the Trade Winds blow on the island, and may reach a speed of 25 knots.
Wave spots or “glassy” spots: the possibilities are plenty to enjoy windsurfing at its best, while local and international champions such as Julien Quentel (World and Europe Champion) are training right next to you.
You may find all the necessary equipment to practice your hobby for rent in the local clubs of the island.

Kitesurfing

You will find no crowded spots with hundreds of kites in the air; you will get the chance to practice in the best conditions. And the perfectly regular pace of the Trade Winds makes kitesurfing even more enjoyable. No wonder why the “SXMChallenge” takes place on the beaches of Saint Martin: all the best local and international riders gather for this event, the largest surfing event of the Caribbeans.

Scuba Diving

As an experienced diver or a beginner, you will be delighted to discover the underwater world of Saint Martin. The Tintamarre islet, the Shark islet with its Ansel Marcel cliff, the Pinel islet, or else the Pelican Reef are only a few of the amazing spots that you may discover.

The fishing fans will also love it: winged tunas, yellow tunas, shoals of sea breams, wahoos, sharks and barracudas are waiting for you! No matter the period of the year, your sea trips will always bring you inforgettable memories.
